Rice will no longer be provided.

No More Rice Earlier, ration card holders got a quota of free rice each month. There will not be distribution of free rice to the public through ration distributors under this scheme. The move impacts nearly 900 million people who avail of the subsidized food grains under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

E-kyc is Mandatory

Mandatory OR Optional: The scheme makes e-KYC process mandatory for ration card holders who are availing low-cost or free ration. You will need to visit the nearest ration shop for biometric verification. The government has announced that the names of those who do not complete e-KYC will be removed from the ration card list. E-KYC deadline has now been extended to 31st December 2024
